Hand-Carved Slippery Elm Wand
This wand grew from a tree in Flagstaff, Arizona. This wand is made form the same branch as my personal wand and was designed in a similar way. The red core of the elm was exposed and then sharpened. Then the transition between shaft and handle were intricately filed to a perfect squared corner.
The Wand is Knife carved for the initial sharpening and then sanded smooth to soft touch finish. The wand is intentionally left unsealed so that it may absorb any hand oils or other spell components during it’s life in the tradition of Wabi-Sabi.
